Office FAQs
OFFICE HOURS AND APPOINTMENTS
- Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Always bring your insurance card with you to your appointment. Always advise us of any changes to your insurance coverage.
- Some insurance companies require prior authorization for all visits. This needs to be completed before you are seen by the physician or treated by the nurses.
- “Walk-Ins” visits are discouraged but same-day appointments can be made by calling our main number 541-774-5853.
- 24-hour notice is mandatory if you need to change or cancel an appointment.
- “No-Show” appointments can result in dismissal from the physician’s practice.
Please understand that occasionally we are delayed by emergencies and prolonged appointments with patients who are experiencing problems. We will make every effort to be on time or keep you fully informed when there is a wait.
CARE AFTER HOURS
- One of our physicians is on-call for emergency care after hours. The physicians work together as a team and each can help you with any problem you may have.
- When you call one of our offices the answering service will put you in touch with the on-call physician.
- Please call us first in the event of a serious problem, rather than going straight to the emergency room.
- In case of a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.
APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us at least 24-hours in advance so that we may offer your time to another patient. Our “No-Show” policy is defined as any scheduled appointment for which a patent arrives more than 15 minutes late or that is canceled or rescheduled with less that 24-hour notice.
TELEPHONE CALLS
- To better assist you, our team of nurses and other health professionals are trained to answer many of your medical questions. Please feel free to call us during regular office hours: 541-774-5853.
- If you need to speak to your physician, he/she will return your call or convey information through our staff at the earliest opportunity that the schedule will permit.
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
- Prescriptions and refills are issued only during office hours. Please give us 48 hours in advance of when your prescription is needed.
- Most narcotics require a written prescription. Please anticipate your needs.
EMERGENCY
Emergencies always receive our highest priority. In the event of an emergency, call our office immediately and tell the receptionist who you are and the nature of your problem. For emergencies after regular office hours, call our office number (541-774-5853) and you will be connected with an operator who will reach the on-call physician.
If you are unsure whether you should be seen in our office or a hospital emergency room, please call us first. If you do not need the intensive services of an emergency room, we may be able to care for you less expensively and more conveniently.
If you are visiting our clinic when a patient who needs emergency attention arrives, we ask for your understanding if your appointment is delayed. We appreciate your patience. Be reassured by knowing you would receive the same immediate attention if you were in a similar situation.
YOUR MEDICAL RECORD
Your medical record will be kept strictly confidential and no information will be released without your written consent. Please remember that our obligation to maintain the confidentiality of your medical records extends to your relatives and friends. We require your specific authorization to discuss your case with them.
